Keeping Children Safe
At Colebrook Infant Academy we take our responsibilities for keeping children safe very seriously.
All staff are trained to spot signs that may show children are being abused, neglected or unsafe and this training is updated regularly (at least annually).
The designated safeguarding leads in school are Mrs C Hodkinson and Mrs A-M Cleary who make a decision about whether to contact Swindon social care or the police when a concern is raised.
If you would like to speak to either of them confidentially please ask at the school office. If you need advice or to speak to someone urgently out of school hours, please contact Swindon social care.
Never keep concerns about children’s safety to yourself.
The school is taking part in a project that will run jointly between schools and Wiltshire Police: ENCOMPASS is the reporting to schools, by the next school day, when a child or young person has been affected by a domestic incident. ENCOMPASS will ensure that a member of the school staff, known as a Key Adult, will recieve the information in confidence, while ensuring that the school is able to make provision for possible difficulties experienced by children, or their families, who have been involved in, affected by or exposed to a domestic abuse incident. We are keen to offer the best support possible to all out pupils and we believe this will be extremely beneficial for all those involved.
