The year 2’s went to Warnedge woods in Wanborough .They enjoyed pond dipping and searching for mini beasts in the meadow. they also build some fabulous dens using branches and tarpaulins.
The Rabbits and Squirrels classes have been looking at different types of bridges from around the world.They have sketched some famous bridges and built there own using junk.
The Squirrels have been out looking for mini-beasts after all the rain we have had. They found a good real selection from slugs to caterpillars.They also enjoyed making homes for the creatures they found.
Last week 10 living eggs were bought to school in an incubator.The children have enjoyed watching them all hatch and learning about the chicks. They are being looked after in the reception class and are growing very quickly.
This week the Squirrels have been finding tadpoles in the pond and planting seeds that will grow into flowers and vegetables later this year.
As part of our Topic the Year 2’s have been learning all about Spain and its culture. This week we all had a chance to see how the spanish traditional dish is made and what it tastes like! Lots of us liked it and even had some seconds!
Year 2 were very lucky and had a Drama workshop earlier this week which was based on woodland creatures and they all thoroughly enjoyed.
