Last week 10 living eggs were bought to school in an incubator.The children have enjoyed watching them all hatch and learning about the chicks. They are being looked after in the reception class and are growing very quickly.
The Woodpeckers have been learning signalong and have been thinking about different types of transport. The children thought it would be a good idea to make their own aeroplanes.
This week we have had a skipping workshop, where we all tried hard to skip and improve our skills. We have made seagulls for our beach shop. All of this week dinner ladies have been giving out golden tickets to children with outstanding manners and behavior at lunchtime. This golden ticket is an invitation to lunch with Mrs Hodkinson on a Friday, this will happen every week giving all children a chance to earn a golden ticket.
This term we have a beach and ice cream van role play area. Th children have had fun dressing up ready for the beach.
In Woodpeckers and Hedgehogs we have been planning beans and making clay pots to put our beans in. In maths we have been looking at repeating patterns and symmetry. In reception we have also been making bridges for the 3 Billy Goats Gruff. We have made troll and Goat headbands and acted out the story outside. We have taken our beans home now in
Woodpeckers & Hedgehogs have been exploring 2D Shape. They have been looking at the difference between squares and rectangles and making shapes with their bodies.
We all visited St Margaret’s Church on Wednesday. The children loved finding the special features of a church had a real hands on experience.
