Health Care
Generally when children
are in school we expect them to be fit for all school activities including outside playtimes. If they have had a stomach upset,
they must have been clear of any sickness or diarrhoea for 48 hours before returning to school please.
We cannot accept responsibility
for administering medicines. Please do not send any kind of medication to school with your child. If he or she has a chronic
complaint and requires medication during the day, please see me as soon as possible so that appropriate arrangements can be
made.
If your child is taken
ill at school we may need to contact you during the day. Please keep us informed of any changes in work or home addresses
and phone numbers.
Head lice have become
a problem in many schools. They love clean hair and so everyone is at risk. Please check the whole family’s hair (including
grandparents!) every week. If you find lice or eggs please let us know. If several cases are reported we will put out a general
warning. The responsibility for treatment lies with parents but we are happy to provide you with up to date information on
the most effective ways of dealing with them.
Sex Education
The Governors believe
that formal sex education should not form part of the Infant School curriculum. Pupils’ questions on the subject will
be answered honestly by staff.
We all place great
importance on the partnership between home and school and we will let you know if your child asks questions of a sensitive
nature.
