Harvest Festival, Carol Service, Health and Safety
30th
September 2009
Dear Parents
Harvest Festival
We will be celebrating our Harvest Festival on Thursday 8th October. Unfortunately we do not have
enough space to invite you to join us but we would like you to contribute! Once again we are supporting the Swindon Foodbank.
This local charity does an excellent job by providing families in crisis with food to help them out until they are able to
get back on their feet again. I realise that times are difficult but if you could spare any tins or packets of food it would
be very much appreciated. We are happy to accept your donations immediately. A list showing the sort of food needed is on
the reverse of this letter. For obvious reasons we cannot accept fresh produce, but if you have any garden flowers to brighten
the Harvest display we will be very pleased to have them.
Carol ServiceThe joint carol service with the Junior school will be held at St. Margaret’s church on
Wednesday 9th December. We really want you, the congregation to be able to join in the with carols. Over the last
couple of years we have chosen traditional carols, but the words of these are quite difficult for the little one to understand
and remember. Do you remember any carols from your days at infant school, which other parents might know and which we can
teach the children. If you have any suggestions please let us know on the slip below and we’ll try to find the music.
Health & SafetyIt has been brought to my attention
that parents are allowing little ones to wee on the grass in the school grounds. Your children are still able to take advantage
of the recent fine weather by playing on the grass, rolling down the hills and generally enjoying themselves. I’m sure
I don’t need to remind you about the health hazards associated with these waste products! If your child needs to go
to the toilet the school toilets are available for use. Please ask to use them. Your children’s continued good health
may depend on it.
Yours sincerely
Carol
