Dear Parents
Christmas Reminders
Post Box – The school postal system is
up and running for the delivery of cards within the Infant School. Please ensure that any cards posted have the child’s
full name and class on the envelope. – thank you Carol
Service – Our annual joint carol service with the Junior
school will be held on Wednesday 9th December at St. Margaret’s church, Stratton, starting at 7.00. It usually
lasts just over half an hour. At one point in the service all the Infant school children present will go out to the front
to sing two carols to the congregation. Everyone welcome. Please come if you can. Christmas Disco – Thursday 10th
December 5.45 – 7.00, tickets £2 each from the school office. Christmas Performances – These start on Thursday
10th and continue until Thursday 17th. Please collect your tickets from the School office. There is
no charge but there will be a collection in aid of a charity dedicated to eradicating polio in children. Christmas Party -
Friday 18th December, the last day of term. Children may wear “party clothes” but they should be suitable
for going outside to play in at break, so no sandal type footwear please. Also if your child has opted for the buffet party
lunch (menu chosen by the school council) they will not need a lunch box on that day. End of Term – School closes
at the usual time of 1.35 on Friday 18th for the Christmas break and the doors reopen at 8.40 on Monday 4th
January.
Payments and returns to the school officeYou may have noticed a smart black box donated by the Friends’ Association on the wall outside the office.
To save queuing in the mornings you or your child can “post” milk and dinner money envelopes, requests for disco
tickets, reply slips etc. as long as all money is in an envelope labelled with your child’s name and what the money
is for.
Junior Play EquipmentThe junior
play equipment is out of bounds in the mornings to Juniors at the moment as it is often wet and dangerous at that time of
day. For that reason please ensure that infant school children do not use it in the mornings either.
Good news
During the completion of her treatment Mrs Hicks
is making a phased return to work and she hopes to be back full time soon after the start of the New Year. Mrs Churchill is
making an excellent recovery after her recent operation but it will still be some time before she is able to return to work.
I am sure you join us in wishing them both well.
Yours sincerely
