Week Beginning 4.10.15

We named and sorted 2D and 3D Shapes. Then we had a competition to see who could build the tallest and strongest buildings from 3D Shapes. At the end of the week we carried out some tree rubbings as part of our “Theres No Place Like Home” topic.

Woodpeckers 2D Shapes

The Woodpeckers have been recognising, making and naming 2D Shapes.

Year 2 Autumn Forest Collage

The Rabbits and Squirrels have been making a collaborative collage to go on display in the front corridor of our school. They used materials, twigs and paint to create their masterpiece!

Adding “ed” Literacy game

This week the Squirrels and Rabbits played a tricky game of adding “ed” to words in groups of three. Two children played the game, taking turns and one person was the grammar checker and made sure the word was spelled correctly after the “ed” was added to the end.

Making Hedgehogs

The Hedgehogs Class have been using natural resources to make hedgehogs.

School Awards – Young Carers

Mrs Prinzi from Swindon Carers Centre presented our Young Carers Award in Celebration Assembly on Friday 25th September 2015. Mrs Willis (one of our parent governors) and some of our Young Carers, were delighted to accept the award on behalf of the school.
