This week the Rabbits have been measuring the different capacities of bottles and containers and ordering them from what would hold the most to what holds the least.
The Owls class made Mother’s day cards using newspaper and egg cartons as part of our recycling topic. Also the Owls using the i-pads to take a photo of their favourite book adding text to the cover then changing the colour of the text
In the Owls class we had a visitor from Swindon Borough Council who talked to us about recycling. We used some of the recycling to make junk models.
We shared books with Year 2s on World Book Day. On March 10th we took part in a recycling workshop – we had to work as a team to reuse items of rubbish. We made a recycled city and a rocket.
On Monday afternoon the Owls class went on a trip to recycle some rubbish we had collected.
This week in Maths the children have been measuring using non standard measures like pennies, blocks and pencils and have also been using tape measures to measure each others bodies and compare their results with the rest of the class.
On World Book Day our theme was Bedtime stories and all children and staff came to dressed in their Pajamas. In the morning the whole school had an assembly and we talked about reading. Then children swapped classes and shared their favourite book with someone in a different class.
