Woodpeckers -March Forest School

We did forest school with Mrs. Murray. We had lots of fun making bird feeders and going on a spring walk.We hung the feeders around the school;have you seen them on the trees around the field?

Easter Cards – Owls

The Owls class did Still Life Paintings of Daffodils for their Easter cards.

Reception Trip to Stanton Park

We had a very wet forest school trip to Stanton Park but we loved splashing in the puddles and getting covered in mud! In the afternoon ,the sun came out and we had a great time building dens for ourselves and then very small dens for the little puppet animals.We made different animals out of leaves too which lots of us really enjoyed.

Year One School Trip to Stanton Park.

On Tuesday the year 1’s went to Stanton Park . First we went for a woodland walk looking for different forest creatures. We found a woodpecker hole and looked at some beehives.Next we built some dens and climbed on some fallen trees. Year 2 Trip to Stanton Park

On Monday we went to Stanton Park.We started our day by looking for fossil remains and at different types of trees.We then built homes for small woodland creatures and looked for mini-beasts.It was fun building small rafts and seeing if they would float in the stream. Rabbits Forest School – March

In Forest School this week we are still looking for signs that Spring has arrived. We found some frogs and lots of frog spawn in the pond.We hope it is alright but as it snowed last week, it may have frozen so may not develop into tadpoles. We also cleared the wild flower patch ready to plant new seeds.

Sports Relief

Today the whole school took part in the the Swindon schools Baton Relay. We received the baton from South Marston School and passed it through all our classes to Colebrook Junior School.

Maths Year 2 – Measuring using grams.

The year 2’s have been learning to weigh different fruits and vegetables using grams.  

Rainforest flowers

The year 2’s have been looking at the different types of flowers that can be found in a rainforest. We drew a flower using pastels and used the design for our Mother’s Day cards. Maths – Robins Class

Robins class have been learning new things in Maths. We played games to help us tell the time to the nearest quarter of an hour and we found practical ways to help us divide by 2 and 5.
