Welcome to Squirrels Class Blog
As part of our castles topic we have been designing and making clay pots. These are the type of pots that people in castles in Medieval times would have made and used.
We had a wonderful time at Stanton Park today. In the morning we learned about the history of the park from Roman times and searched the wild meadow for plants and mini beasts. In the afternoon we build dens in the woodland.
In year 2 we have been learning how to write blogs and send messages using our DB Primary accounts on I Pads and computers.
In our Jigsaw lessons we have been learning about our different body parts and labelling some pictures.
In year 2 we have enjoyed making our own castles out of junk. We have made turrets and battlements with crenelations and drawbridges to prevent our enemies from entering.
We had a beautiful day for our forest school. We went to the pond area and found that the water lilies are now in flower. Some of the tadpoles have turned into froglets, which means they have 4 legs but have not lost their tails. As our topic this term is Castles some of us had fun building castles for mini beasts and others helped
On Tuesday the year 2’s went to Sudeley Castle. There was so much to see:ruins, beautiful gardens and lots of rooms to look around. There was even a tower with a hole in it made by a cannonball. We all had a great time.
We all loved walking round our school gallery. Everyone in the school had painted a picture which had been framed. It was lovely to look at everyone’s work.
We spent the morning clearing the raised beds and adding new soil to them. They are now ready to plant out all the vegetables we have been growing from seeds once the plants are large enough.
The year 2’s enjoyed making bunting and crowns to celebrate the royal wedding.
