British Science Week
This week we took part in a science day. At the start of the day, we were challenged to assemble a skeleton in small groups by Mr Clarke. We managed too!
We investigated how we could communicate with each other around corners by making paper cup telephones and enjoyed discovering that they even work for long distances!
We celebrated our success by investigating how we can use water, yeast and sugar to blow up balloons. We found out that hot water makes the balloon inflate better.
It snowed!
We managed to play in the snow at Forest School. We made snowmen and created wonderful creatures.
In English, we have been learning and retelling the story of Finn MacCool and the Giant's Causeway. We learnt that the giants in the story lived in Northern Ireland and Scotland and we have located these on a map of the UK. In the story, both giants wanted to prove that they were the strongest so created a pathway by ripping rocks from the cliffs and throwing them into the sea. In Forest School, we created our own causeway using natural materials.
World Book Day
For World Book Day, we wore pyjamas to school and listened to our teachers read us a range of stories.
We also created our favourite character using a wooden spoon at home.
