What have we been learning in Term 5?

Year 1 have been making the most of the sun this week! We took our English lesson outside and shared facts about astronaut Mae Jemison. The children are incredibly engaged and excited about our space topic, and are looking forward to writing non-chronological reports about Mae next week. 

This term has started with a lot of excitement for Year 1. 

We arrived at school on Tuesday to find that a rocket had crashed in the school playground! After watching footage of the rocket crash we ventured outside to find the site and then made predictions as to what we thought had happened. Throughout the week we have discovered that a small yellow alien called Beegu came from the rocket.  We found photos of Beegu visiting our role play area as well as by her rocket crash site.  She left us a book about her adventure which we were extremely excited to read. The children are really looking forward to what we will learn about Beegu next.
